Pop is supposed to be shit. That's cool ya'll! But when the song is about how much you are in love with a horrible man that scares to shits, there is seriously something wrong with you. Just listen to this:
This song is about a dude, who is a monster and scares his girlfriend. The dumn bitch says that he is the best she has ever had but still whines about it to her mother. Like seriously. BREAK UP! There is no point in this. Why the hell, love hurts but domestic violence hurts worse. It leaves bruises and stuff and lgives you mental problems. You know?
Now it they wanted to address the real issue, which being a guy beating up his girlfriend, there are ways to do it right. There has been very successful campains about important very serious issues in pop culture (like the excellent song Waterfall by TLC) so I don't have anything against that. I have issues against poorly written whiny crop (crap + pop = crop) that doesn't help anybody.
I think part of my frustration comes from the upbeat rythm and the careless wannabe 50's styled music. This is serious shit ya'll so take it as such! The whole song is laughing at this poor woman's face while she begs help from her mother.
Why do I care so much? They play this song at my work. Try to listen to it hundred times a day and not get offensed. Women all around the world! Leave your shitty men behind! You are worth much more! And if you are scared of being alone then just look at me! I'm almost 30, living alone and I cry myself to sleep every night. Sounds pathetic? Well it is not. I chose this way so no shithead will ever get his hands on me! That's girl power baby
